We understand the importance of reliable equipment, and to ensure your peace of mind, each category of product we sell comes with a transparent warranty tailored to its condition. Your investment is protected, allowing you to focus on bringing your visions to life.

Understanding Our Product Conditions & Warranties

We offer products in various conditions to suit your needs and budget. Please review the specific warranty details for each product category:

1. New Products (Desktops, Laptops, and Accessories)

These are brand-new, factory-sealed items, never previously opened or used.

  • Warranty Period: One (1) year limited warranty from the original date of purchase.
  • Coverage: Covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, ensuring all core components, displays (for desktops/laptops), power systems, cooling, keyboards, trackpads, and ports function as intended by the manufacturer.
  • Certification: Backed by Xstringe's commitment to quality, often including the original manufacturer's warranty where applicable.

2. Open-Box Products (Desktops, Laptops, and Select Accessories)

Open-box products are typically unsealed but are in a new condition, often with original packaging and accessories. They've undergone a thorough inspection to confirm functionality.

  • Warranty Period: Six (6) month limited warranty from the original date of purchase.
  • Coverage: Covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, similar to new products. This ensures the core functionality of the product.
  • Certification: Backed by Xstringe's commitment to quality, may include the original manufacturer's warranty where applicable.

3. Renewed Products (Desktops, Laptops, and Select Accessories)

Renewed products have been professionally inspected, cleaned, repaired (if necessary), and restored to full working order by our certified technicians or partners. They meet strict performance standards.

  • Warranty Period: Ninety (90) day limited warranty from the original date of purchase.
  • Coverage: Covers functional defects related to hardware components and workmanship. We guarantee that the product will power on, operate, and perform its core functions as expected for a renewed device.
  • Condition Note: May show light signs of wear consistent with previous use.

4. Used Products (Desktops, Laptops, and Select Accessories)

Used products are pre-owned devices that have undergone basic testing to confirm functionality. They may show visible signs of wear. These are sold at a more accessible price point.

  • Warranty Period: Thirty (30) day limited functional warranty from the original date of purchase.
  • Coverage: This warranty is strictly limited to major functional failures. It covers the product's ability to power on, boot to the operating system (for desktops/laptops), and the core components (CPU, GPU, RAM) to function. It does not cover cosmetic wear, battery degradation (if applicable) typical of a used device, or minor non-essential component failures.
  • "As-Is" Aspects: Beyond the 30-day functional warranty, used products are sold "as-is" regarding cosmetic condition and battery life, which are not covered.

5. Accessories (Standalone Purchase)

This category covers accessories purchased independently, not bundled with a desktop or laptop, such as monitors, keyboards, mice, and other peripherals.

  • Warranty Period: Thirty (30) day limited warranty from the original date of purchase for functional defects. For new accessories, the manufacturer's warranty may also apply.
  • Coverage: Covers functional defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Does not cover cosmetic damage or wear and tear from normal use.
  • Note: Some accessories may be covered under their respective manufacturer's warranty for a longer period. Please check the product's documentation for details.

General Warranty Exclusions (Applicable to All Categories)

To maintain the integrity of our warranty, certain conditions and damages are not covered across all product categories. This warranty does not extend to:

  • Accidental Damage: Damage caused by drops, spills, impacts, liquid exposure, or any other physical trauma.
  • Misuse or Abuse: Issues arising from improper handling, operation outside recommended guidelines, or intentional damage.
  • Unauthorized Modifications: Any repairs, alterations, or upgrades performed by non-Xstringe authorized service centers or personnel. This includes opening the product chassis in a manner that voids manufacturer seals.
  • Software Issues: Problems related to operating systems, installed third-party software, viruses, malware, or data loss. (While we don't cover software, our support team can often guide you on troubleshooting these issues).
  • Normal Wear and Tear: Cosmetic damage such as scratches, dents, or fading that do not affect functionality, especially for Renewed, and Pre-Owned(Used) categories where this is expected.
  • Consumables: Components with a finite lifespan, such as batteries (beyond the initial performance degradation expected for the product's age/condition).
  • Acts of Nature: Damage caused by natural disasters, power surges, or environmental factors (e.g., extreme humidity, temperature).
  • Lack of Maintenance: Issues stemming from a failure to perform recommended software updates or basic system maintenance.
  • Missing or Altered Serial Numbers: Products with defaced, altered, or removed serial numbers.

Initiating a Warranty Claim

If you experience an issue that you believe is covered under your product's specific warranty, please follow these steps to ensure a smooth resolution:

  1. Contact Support First: Before sending your product, contact us at sales@xstringe.shop. Provide your order number, the product's serial number (if applicable), and a detailed description of the problem you're experiencing. Visuals (photos or short videos) are often helpful.
  2. Remote Diagnosis: Our team will first attempt to diagnose and resolve the issue remotely through troubleshooting steps. Many common problems can be fixed without sending the product in.
  3. Return Authorization (RMA): If a hardware defect is confirmed, we will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and provide detailed instructions for shipping your product to our service center.
  4. Secure Packaging & Data Backup: It is your responsibility to safely package the product to prevent further damage during transit. We recommend using the original packaging if available. Crucially, please back up all your data before sending any data-containing product (like desktops or laptops); Xstringe is not responsible for any data loss during the service process.

Repair or Replacement Service

Upon receiving your product, our certified technicians will inspect it to verify the warranty claim based on its purchase category. If the defect is covered, Xstringe will, at its sole discretion, either:

  • Repair the defective part(s) using new, refurbished, or functionally equivalent components suitable for the product's condition category.
  • Replace the defective product with a new, open-box, renewed, or used unit (matching the original condition category) of equivalent or superior performance and functionality.

The repaired or replaced product will be returned to you. The warranty period for the original purchase continues from its original date; repairs or replacements do not extend the overall warranty period.

Shipping and Handling for Warranty Service

The customer is responsible for securely packaging and shipping the product to Xstringe's service center. Xstringe will cover the cost of return shipping of the repaired or replaced product back to the customer within Nigeria. If the product is found not to be covered under this warranty, or if the claim is deemed invalid, the customer will be responsible for all shipping costs (both ways) and any repair costs incurred.

Limitation of Liability

Xstringe's liability under this warranty is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of the defective product as per its purchased condition. Xstringe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages whatsoever, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of business profits, business interruption, or any other commercial damages or losses, arising from the use or inability to use our products, even if Xstringe has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Governing Law

This Warranty Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
